A budget your household keeps together
Ninepence is a budgeting app for households. Everyone in a household works in the same budget: they plan each month, record what they spend and see what is left, on a phone or a computer.
Ninepence runs on your household's own server and works on your home network only: sign in from a device that is on it.
Budgeting by envelopes
Each month, the money that comes in is shared out over envelopes, one for each category: groceries, rent, a holiday. What you spend comes out of its envelope, and what an envelope has left carries forward to the next month.
An overspent envelope is shown, not refused, so you can see it and plan more for it. Every month says how much is still to plan and how much is left to spend.
For households
A household is one budget in one currency, and its members are the people who share it. The Owner invites the others by email, each with a role: Owner, ReadWrite, who records and plans, or ReadOnly, who reads.
A change one member makes is on the others' screens at once, without a reload. A person can be a member of more than one household.
Your transactions, without typing them all
Record an expense or an income by hand, import your bank's export file, or link an account at a Belgian bank and sync it. Rows from a file or a bank are suggested a category from what your household did before, and you confirm them.
